HISTORY
Aglianico del Vulture has very remote origins and it is believed that it was introduced by the Greeks in southern Italy between the 7th and 6th centuries BC One of the historical-literary testimonies on the history of this vine was left by Quinto Orazio Flacco, a Latin poet originally from di Venosa who exalted the beauties of his land (Basilicata) and the wine in question.
VULTURE’S AGLIANICO
Aglianico del Vulture is a DOC wine from the Aglianico vine obtained from the vinification in purity of the grapes belonging to the vine of the same name, which is found in the vineyards located at the foot of Monte Vulture, a volcano that has been extinct for millennia.
After purchasing a thirty-year-old vineyard of Aglianico del Vulture grapes, they decide not to sell the product obtained from the vineyard, but rather to transform it. The choice to undertake this path derives from the passion for healthy things and the desire to transmit genuineness in quality products .
The purchase of the land by the progenitor was fundamental, so the choice of the name of the wine was spontaneous: “Alberi in Piano”, which is the name of the district of the place where it all began and where the farm is located.
